INDEXNot a question, but a really helpful directing app

Don't know if SP will let me tell you about this app, because it's basically an ad. But I don't get paid from Per, so I should be safe, right?
There's an amazing shot planning app you guys need to check out:

It's called "Shot Designer" and runs on an iPad and all the rest. It does over-heads (and a lot more) for planning character and camera moves. I always do over-heads because I usually don't have time to do storyboards. It's a great way to communicate with your crew. I do it with pencil and graph paper. This is better. Way better.

Thanks so much. I've just started using this now. It really is excellent and affordable.
For some reason my storyboard pics aren't showing up in the shot list, when I export it as a pdf.
Does anyone have any tips/ fixes on that? I know I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks again. Best wishes

Glad you like it Robin, I haven't used it yet, but definitely plan to.
I met Per-- digitally--years ago because of my book. He did a video series on camera placement, and I taught a directing seminar on camera placement, and we approach it much the same way. I guess because we studied the masters.
I think he's pretty brilliant, and is always coming up with something interesting. And the fact that you can hook your storyboards to shots in the app kind of blows me away. What a great idea! It's simple, yet I don't know of anyone that has thought of combining the two in a program.

I did have a go on my latest film.. and yes highly recommended.. more features could be added (that's just like all the other apps) but the way it is now, it's well worth the money.. I think it should be in every director's, DOP's and AD's ipad :) I would give it 10/10 if it has a sync feature with other team members and/or working together a plan each from their own iPad simultaneously (like online meeting/presentation style)
