Shorts to Features...

7 years, 2 months ago - Lee 'Wozy' Warren

As some of you may know, I have started to mentor filmmakers through the transition from making shorts through to making features.

So if you have made that journey recently, say in the last 5 years, a few questions for you (And for those who haven't, then hopefully this discussion will be of some use):

How easy was it?
Was it a successful transition?
Are you still making features?
Are you making a living from it?
Were the steps you took based on your own experiences or did you have help?

And on the flip side:

If you're no longer making features, why not?
If you haven’t made the transition, but want to, what is the single biggest reason that is holding you back?

Love to hear your thoughts.

I saw an answer on another network, by accident:

I suspect Russell (or someone who commissioned him) read your post. The timing is almost too coincidental.
