Are employers actually choosing you based on your video CV?
Is it worth to have a video cv if you want to work in film production?
I just feel it's not very fair to choose a candidate based on the confidence they show in front of the camera.
Thank you

It depends on the job one is aspiring to. Film is quite often a business rather than just a worthy charity or educational project. Producers need to know what other folk can do and s show reel is a pretty good starting point. For junior and beginner roles it's not important as being sane, personable and having sufficient aptitude.
