We need a hospital room and corridor for a 2 days. We have £400 to pay/spend. Any help or ideas?!

We are shooting a low budget feature for 5 weeks (end of September and through October)...and we have an important scene in a hospital. We have exhausted every avenue... does anyone know of a closed down hospital or wing of a hospital or does anyone have anything resembling a hospital room? We have £400 to spend for the 2 days. Thanks so much!!!

These guys are good: http://filmmedical.co.uk/ - not sure about their rates for renting the hospital room though.

There are quite a few hospital beds on Ebay
Some are already in rooms that look hospitally.
The owners may let you film there, or else the bed is with in your budget. And you can sell it after the film. Unless you need it to recuperate. Good luck.

With a crew of 20 that would be a large space. My suggestion would be some white flats and an eBay hospital bed plonked in one of your other sets. What's the corridor shot? Is that the, well loved, bed being rolled down the long white hallway? If the eBay bed has wheels it could take on both parts. I have no idea where you'd get a perfect match for all your needs. My suggestion is rather a compromise. It would work for three scenes, if one scene could be at night. Good Luck

This question comes up regularly. And has been answered before so it is worth searching the SP bulletin archive.
Try local universities which run courses for nurses physios and OTs. They often have training facilities which are free at the weekend - and their students might make good extras.

Have you tried Merton Studios, last time I was there they had a hospital corridor and rooms set.

Thanks Stephen and Andy ... i have looked on the old posts and am in contact with one of the sources... Andy, to answer your questions, it's 10 pages but different scenes. One scene 4 actors, one scene 2, one scene 1 and one scene 7. Full crew (20). Make Up and Wardrobe rooms would be great. We will need parking. Yes to mains power and toilet. Window not required. Can be a double room, but not a ward - would prefer a private room. Hospital in London. Would like fairly modern, but will consider anything. Yes we are fully insured. Not sure about Bectu to be honest. Do you know of anywhere?! thanks!!!!

It's impossible to suggest anything because I don't know what you want.
How many script pages?
How many actors?
How many crew?
Do you need a makeup room?
A costume area?
Parking?
What's the Lighting requirements? Do you need mains power?
Toilets?
Does the room need a window?
Can it be a ward?
Or a private room?
Where is the hospital? England?
What condition is the building?
Are you insured?
Are your primary crew self insured(pl)?
Are they in BECTU?
Shooting People could set up a template for location requests, just like crew requests.
At the moment these random enquires are not easy to help. I have offered great locations to these asks and not even got a no thankyou.
