INDEXWhat are equity wages for corporate videos?

What do equity actors get paid for a corporate video? Does Equity cover corporate video?
I'm thinking about videos like these ones, made straight for the internet. (I hope we can make better videos than these, but these are just examples of the genre.)

If you know other rates for corporates, that might also be helpful. These are covered by Bectu too, right?
Thanks,
Vasco

Dear Vasco. I'm an actress experienced in corporate videos (I'm from a BAME background too which is often advantageous when shooting these films. I also have a background in the corporate business sector as a PA. I live with three other actors and we all trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Here is my CV: http://www.spotlight.com/1373-7860-7784 and do let me know if you would like to see the CVs of my housemates too. Best Wishes. Anna Riding.

If you're looking at UK it's £250 - £300 per day shooting, then various agreements depending where it is then presented (online, in house only, etc). Virtually all corporate videos I've done for in house use have been a straight payment of £300 for a 1 day shoot + expenses.
This is copied directly from Equities "Non Broadcast Video Agreement" which was last updated in 2011
NON BROADCAST VIDEO RATES
FOR VISUAL PERFORMERS
(EXCLUDING: Theatrical, Opera and Ballet Productions)
These are minimum guidelines, attached to which is a suggested
Contract containing terms and conditions for such engagements.
SELL THROUGH (produced for commercial exploitation)
£300 per day, plus 100% of the total aggregate fees paid, for either 3
years use (sales) only, or per tranche of 5000 units sold, whichever
is reached the earlier.
EDUCATIONAL (produced for purchase or exhibition e.g. health centres,
schools, museums, information centres etc.)
£250 per day, plus 100% of the total aggregate fees paid, for 3
years public exhibition use.
CORPORATE (produced for non broadcast, usually for showing to
Company Sales Force, or as an in house training video.)
NB. The term “corporate” is often used to describe product that DOES
NOT come into this category e.g. Advertising, In Store/Branch
promotional use (see below). Therefore it is always advisable to
investigate further as to what is meant by “corporate” use in each
individual case.
£250 per day which includes use for 3 years.
COMMERCIALS (produced for such commercial use as in Stores,
Branches and promotional purposes.)
£250 per day plus either 100% for 3 months use or 200% for 1 years use.
IN FLIGHT (produced for use on aeroplanes.)
NB. This can also be used as a guideline as a secondary use for
programmes/films, if the rights owner should request a rate.
£300 per day plus additional payment of the daily fee for 3 months use.
WEB-SITE (for use on one web-site)
100% for 3 months use, 400% for 1 years use
VOICE OVER FEES.
50% of the above rates per HOUR plus any usage payments as appropriate.

AFAIK there are no PACT/Equity deals for corporates per se, and frankly unless you want no-names (and will deal with them directly, not getting Equity involved), you're paying by negotiation over the Equity minimum anyway. EQM is £144 for a low-budget feature, but it is then boosted significantly by usage fees (territory buyouts).
There are no PACT/BECTU rates any more, it's all 'by negotiation'. Most trades seem to have realised that the market and industry have changed hugely, and will negotiate, but gripsbranch are still very active and vocal. Your grip will cost you more than pretty much any other department, but as cameras become smaller and lighter their relevance is threatened.
For a corporate, I'd go in avoiding any mention of unions and see what deals you can do direct. If you do decide you want to use Equity contracts, expect everything to step up a gear or two - PACT registration, escrow posting, etc. You'll add a minimum of £4k to your costs. Excellent value for a feature, less so for a web-only coporate

Thank you for your answers.
Paddy, thanks for the advice.
Matt, I think the clients I'm talking to want a buy out (or flat quote), so the time limit/renewal is probably a deal breaker. I guess if that's their deal, it's not a deal breaker for all clients. Thank you for the contact details as well.
Anna Riding, yes, some do specify particular backgrounds. Most of the work would be outside the London area, but if we do film in London it would be great to know who's there.
