Hello Gary,

The cheapest DSLR you could buy with an included lens is the Canon 1300D - usually around £250-£300. It has features on par with other Canon DSLRs, but it doesn't have a jack to plug external microphones.

Trouble is the term 'tight budget' is entirely relative. The Black Magic Ursa Mini Pro at as little as £4K plus length, essential accoutrements and VAT is concidered to be astonishingly cheap compared with other cameras that are not always better that several times more.

There's the issue of purpose and aspiration too. In fact there's quite a lot of questions that might be required to answer this question if it's to be considered in any meaningful context. If the purpose is to train and encourage then I'd suggest a camera that provides at least manual control provision for all the basic functions comensurate with professional camera work e.g., focus, exposure, white balance and manual audio level with at least a mini jack mic input. The choice is huge and diverse. Best plan is to decide on the budget and then get the best camera that's appropriate to aspiration.

Thank You,Will, for responding on a question I placed long time ago.
Am more involved in photography than video.
This since I have made lots of encounters with lots lots of people in order to finance low budget films and had zero chance
To return my investment. Also could face fiscal problems when employing people.
So now I am photographing flowers,lakes,etc...
