YIKES! For that kind of money, you could hire a human. Don't they know that mid-range films don't exist anymore?

The Artemis app looks pretty interesting--and much cheaper than a director's finder for sure!
This isn't an app, but a good idea. On a thing I worked on recently, the assistant costume designer automatically uploaded her shots of actors in costumes to a private site so that the entire crew could see what costumes for each scene. It was sort of amazing when a mistake happened, and everyone on set pointed it out! Seems everyone took a look during any downtime they had. I think expanding this for all sorts of things, like storyboards, art direction, etc. is something I'd like to try. It really gets everyone involved, that's for sure.
MycallApp looks sort of amazing, Paddy. Let me know how it goes if you end up using it.

Very apple heavy, but there are some good android ones too - very simple ones like a timecode calculator from dutchdevelopers (free) which is just as the name suggests, and can be used to calculate drop and non-drop frame and various frame rate times. No frills or nonsense, just does the job well and fast.
There are various free time sheet apps which can be handy, although from a production viewpoint I'm all for ncr paper!
Release Lackey is a good £6 releases app which generates PDF files with the signatures etc as well as reference photos and supplemental pics in the document (eg photos of their ID, driving licence, casting number, character costume, etc.
http://www.mycallapp.com looks interesting too - makes it easy to receive call sheets and is less grief than emailing (possibly), but will also automatically expire old sheets, stream dailies for those who need them etc. I've not used it yet, but am tempted to give it a go on the next project.

The MyCallApp thing does look tempting, I just can't get my head around their pricing model - it starts off with a free month to test it out - then starts at €50 a WEEK upto €500/WEEK - that's just insane. If you've several projects across a year ('enterprise' subscription) that's like $30,000 a year. The packages are time-based, so that's x projects shooting concurrently! I just don't think it's been thoroughly thought through price-wise as it makes a high bar to entry. I'll give it a try but I can't help think a lower cost would massively increase uptake, especially if things like dailies were add-ons.
