INDEXWhen to audition acting talent?
7 years, 8 months ago - Keiron Ellis
I'm wanting to audition acting talent for a film trailer I'm making to (hopefully) raise film finance.
I'm curious about whether I should audition weekday, weekend or evening to give interested people the best chance to attend? I'll be running the auditions in central London, where I also expect to be doing most or all of the filming.
I'd be interested in views from the acting community - many thanks

How about one session in the weekend and one during the week? Dayjobs come with various schedules.

I agree with Aleve, as you can’t please or accommodate everyone. If I’m excited by a project I will always go out of my way to make the audition and I’m sure that would be the same for others.

As a director who has held auditions (not an actor who has attended them) I would say that there will always be some people who can and can’t make it but that most people have flexible day jobs and so if you give them plenty of notice, a couple of weeks maybe, they can normally speak to work and arrange something. Depending on how many roles you are auditioning for, I would say to split it over a couple of days and make sure that you have time slots throughout the morning and afternoon as people might want to attend before or after work.

Thanks everyone, the consensus makes the right course of action nice and straight forward!
