Where can I get stock photos (will full rights) of Bolivia, cholitas, etc?

I'm budgeting a film and a couple lines are missing. A character is holding a photo of two Bolivian Cholita women wrestling.

I have some ideas how to develop this photo, but I'm not sure if it's worth travelling to Bolivia to get this photo done. Does anyone know any good stock library with Bolivian images? Preferably dynamic images, like those I saw in the Guardian recently, or in National Geographic. (I checked things like Getty Images. Those are editorial, which probably don't have the rights to be used in fiction. They are also pretty bland.)

The thing I need is something where the people in the picture have signed a release form.

Well, they have some nice photos, but they are using them in an editorial sense (straight news story). So, they don't have to get full releases signed to publish them, like you do for fiction and artistic works.

Thank you all. I have contacted the photographer.

Er - you could contact the Guardian /National Geographic. It sounds like you are willing to pay so if they own them it's a negotiation, and if they don't own them, they might put you in touch with the photographer.

There's a lot on Flickr - so easy to reach the photographer, and if you find that some are local, even commission them to get the perfect one. Certainly cheaper than flying there.

Why are you making the assumption that because you saw their work in a context that doesn't need a release, the photographer didn't get one?

If I was drawing a blank on the usual routes, I'd def want to test that assumption.

And if all else fails - if one of the Flickr people lives local to them, they'd probably love a commission and get YOUR release form signed, (and even tell you which languages to get it written in). If not Flickr - boliviaweekly.com might point you the right way.

I'm intrigued - I want to see this film :-)

Alamy, Getty stock libraries will have what you want. Search Google images for it.
