Write (or Rewrite) That Script! One Day Workshop
Single Saturday Screenwriter's Workshop
Address:
Muswell Hill, London N10 N10
Get that script started - or find out how to improve it - in a single seminar, which can help you achieve one of the following goals:
1. If you've finished a script, to improve it
2. If you've started a script, to get it finished
3. If you haven't started a script, to get you started
For every 1,000 scripts that get started, only 1 gets finished; for every 1,000 finished, only 1 is any good; for every 1,000 that are any good, only 1 gets into the hands of someone with the power to make it; for every 1,000 that get into the right hands, only 1 gets made. But take heart: if you've (a) finished a script, and (b) it's any good - you've already beaten half the odds! My one-day workshop will help you to beat the rest - or, if you haven't started your script yet, will give you the boost you need to get it done.
The workshop runs 11am-5pm, Saturday October 2nd and costs £50. Places are extremely limited (so I can give more of that one-on-one guidance) so sign up today!
Your host: David Hughes
As a screenwriter, Hughes has scripted ten feature films and several competition-winning shorts, and has written material for John Cleese, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Sacha Baron Cohen and numerous other comic talents. Active screenplay projects include the thriller Airborne (optioned), the low-budget horror flick Inhuman Remains (just sold), the intensely personal low-budget drama The Bends (in pre-production) and the action-comedy TJ Hooker (writing under commission).
In addition to his screenwriting work, Hughes has been a film critic for Empire for the past 20 years, is a widely published magazine and newspaper journalist, and author of the non-fiction film books Tales from Development Hell and The Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Never Made, and critically-acclaimed volumes about filmmakers Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch.
