Anyone with unmade short film scripts? Filmmakers looking for interesting short scripts to make.

5 years, 8 months ago - Lee Morgan

Hi All,

Hope 2020 is off to a good start.

We're a Directing Duo and are on the hunt for interesting, cinematic short film scripts you've written and that you'd be happy for us to make.

It'll mainly be for experience and to freshen up our reel, network and use to gain further work off the back of. But if we all feel it turns out well and is good enough then we would hit up the festival scene and apply for relevant ones.

Our latest film made in this way can be viewed here - https://vimeo.com/383754051/0ffe46f478

We've plenty of talented cast and crew we collaborate with, we just need some scripts! (Not the biggest fans of writing or as talented at it as you I'm sure) Ideally, scripts that can be made with little to no budget (few characters/locations etc)

Do feel free to give us a shout or hit us up to chat further.

Best,

Lee & Ryan

I've written a 12-page script set in one location with four characters. It's very dialogue-driven, but it means it can be shot on a very small budget. I don't know if this is the kind of thing you're looking for?

Hey,

Sure, sounds really interesting. We've a couple dramas and comedies under our belts but something more dialogue-driven sounds great actually. Would love to check it out.

Hi Lee, You're probably inundated with scripts already, but I can offer another: 5 pages, one location, cast of 2, and a few SFX to convey near future sci-fi.

Hi Lee. Headspace looks great. If you're looking for another comedy, I've got a script approx.5 mins run time about 2 elderly gentleman coming to blows while out on their mobility scooter. I'll email you the synopsis

Thanks for the responses, inundated as expected but enjoying reading through them and getting to read the rest.

The main aim is to meet talented cast and crew that we can regularly work with and move forward with, not too fussed on genre or anything like that. Main thing is that it's something that can be done for next to nothing in a fairly short time span, whilst still being able to be done to a very cinematic, high quality. Something we can all be proud of and use in reels etc.

Hi,

I'm an actor and writer and would love to collaborate with you guys, be that with my writing or me coming on board and acting in your films. I've got a couple of low budget scripts and am currently writing another that should be fairly cheap to shoot.

Here's a link to my acting reel - https://www.spotlight.com/interactive/cv/237167220547

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi James,

We were completely inundated with scripts and wanted to try to read and get back to everyone, which we have been doing slowly. Obviously with everything going on now there's been more time to dedicate to everything sent through again and figure out ones we think are for us and ones that aren't.

Just a case of not having both got to yours and discussed thoughts on pitches/scripts.

Realistically it may also be many months before we can actually get out there and start making things again also so it may be a case of waiting till we know when we can get back out there before we commit diaries to projects.

The original plan was and still is to get a short in the can, of around ten minutes max, every two - three months for a year to really build reels and relationships with talented individuals from all areas of filmmaking.

The amount we were sent and the amount of contact we've had means it's physically impossible to get to make all of them, even half, so don't feel disheartened if we don't commit to making one on this occasion.

Cheers and stay safe

FATHER OF THE BRIAN PITCH

Logline: Falling pregnant can be stressful and confusing enough... Even more so if you are a man.

Ted is a carefree bachelor, living happily alone… Until he falls pregnant that is.

Obviously confused and somewhat worried when he starts to get bigger and rounder, Ted seeks advice from his doctor. Assured that he can’t get pregnant, Ted begins to doubt his doctor’s confidence – He’s beginning to show some very definite signs.

As Ted’s motherly side kicks in he decides to embrace it and make ready for the big day.

‘Father Of The Brian’ is a dark comedy, with no dialogue.

Duration: 6 minutes.
