INDEXendorsing people you have worked with

How can we let others at SP know when we have worked with someone really great?
Recently Sam Kacher acted for me in an unpaid role for a v low budget promo for a book. He put so much energy passion and emotion into the role that I want everyone to know how great his acting skills and how easy and flexible he was to work with.
Is there a way to do this on SP and if not, can we make one?

If shooting people were to do this (and not a bad idea), I think they'd need to make some strict ground rules. I see this descending into a bitch fest of trashing people that were difficult on a shoot.

Yes, it would have to be a positive endorsement only I worked with x and I recommend them because...
The negatives could still be implied by what was left out - but obviously (?) the point of making a recommendation is because you really want to know how good x was.

I like the idea but not sure how you could structure it so that it was of any use.
Working with people can so often be a subjective experience. One persons positive impression may be another's negative. Who's voice should be heard? There may be a number of people on a shoot that 'loved' x, but the one person who gives the reference didn't like them so doesn't give a positive one - or at least makes the reading between the lines to appear negative.
Difficult call to say the least.

I know how you feel Yen - when you've found somebody that has been amazing you want to tell the world and hopefully help them in return right. I think it would be a great idea - but then of course you get people asking you to leave them a review... and whilst you might think someone is a bit so-so, it's hard to say no to leaving them a great review if you are straight up asked to do it and they weren't awful.

Thanks Holly, excellent point. 'You are really great, and I would definitely like to use you again. Unfortunately the rule is that you only recommend the really exceptional, so sorry I can't endorse you'? Yeah, you are right, that won't cut it. And I can see a whole 'I'll endorse you if you endorse me' culture springing up...
Sigh...
I just want to say Wow! for someone. And the more wows from different people the more people will notice them.
Would Only one person per shoot work????

Maybe a 'thumbs up' type approach. People can click on a 'thumb' icon on a profile to show their support. No objective wording. Just a show of support. And a number next to the 'thumb' to show how many people have supported that person.
Maybe...

I agree there should be positive recognition formulae without compromising the artistes career. I propose an eBay type feedback were you don't give negative feedback but neutral or positive appraisal with simple tick box questions such as : turned up on time: follows instructions - doing this will show popularity of work with the amount of comments and give you a feedback score. Vis-a-Vis eBay?

Thanks for this suggestion.
I'll raise with other SP staff, but as several people here have already mentioned, I imagine this might be a difficult one to implement successfully.
