Ever wondered how to stop the UK - and I mean really STOP it. No power, no phones, no computers, no money...?
Michael Paine is a disgruntled man fed up with state of nation in UK plots to bring it to a halt. His knowledge of the UK infrastructure born from government contract work is his life and it is this understanding of the old, archaic, under-funded power-grid, fuel depots, power centres, that is the fuel to his fire.
He becomes a political speaker very much like his famous ancestor Thomas Paine (US revolution AND French Revolution). He becomes a popular figure but has no intention of 'running for parliament' and disappears from public sight - with the promise that when he returned, the country would change forever.
Not just a halt for a few hours, but a complete blackout, no power, no money, no phones. Just think how people (esp the younger) would cope. No phones because there are no networks. no money because there is no power.
Cat and mouse with the police and shady dealings with major powers result in a battle in the final (1st movie/series scene).
Robert Watts described it as "an incredibly important movie that has got to be made"
