    Totally Boring Teenage Love Story

“Every lie takes you nearer the truth.”

“ Whose love story is it anyway?"

“… make me feel happy, make me feel sad, make me remember times I never had…”

It was August 1966. The charts played Eleanor Rigby and God only Knows.

A dozen members of the middle England church senior youth fellowship were taking a week’s retreat of prayer and yacht racing on two gaff rigged sloops before they left the parish for college.

Ray Davis warbled he couldn’t sail his yacht on his Sunny Afternoon but they could, the record that outsold these timeless classics was the one hit wonder Winchester Cathedral.

England had even won some football tournament, horizons seemed limitless.

Whatever crazy ideas the kids had, and they had plenty, this was the last chance to turn them into reality.
